We were recently asked why we have been sharing Mauritian treats at such a competitive price to fellow Mauritians in Australia. You can get our Napolitaines for only $1 each and Tartes Banane under $2 each. On top of this, delivery fees are waived for a large radius in South Eastern suburbs. Of course, these prices are more expensive compared to Mauritius but they are definitely more accessible compared to other artisanal sweets in Australia. The answer to this question is in fact one of the main reasons why we wanted to get into this business.
We have been in Australia for quite a bit of time and started as students at Monash University. We have - as any other student - felt homesick during our studies and occasionally wished that we had one more reminder, one more keepsake, one more taste of our childhood memories. University, despite being fun, wasn't a simple thing, it was never easy to manage our time, let alone our money - rent, bills, food, entertainment, uni fees or transport - we had to survive.
When we founded The Whisktakers, we promised to make our desserts available to everyone, including students. We were in their shoes a few years ago and wanted to ensure that we are making our creations accessible to them, to all those who are homesick and who want to relive those snacks they were buying at the local patisseries - Napolitaines, Puits d'Amour, Tartes Banane or even Eclairs. We try our best to keep low prices to ensure they remain affordable to everyone. We understand that some people don't drive or just would not be able to find the time for the trip and for that reason, we provide delivery services and bring desserts to your door instead.
After more than a year since launching the company, our motives and commitments haven't changed. We are extremely grateful to you who have been supporting us and trusting us. It is always a pleasure to be part of your celebrations and parties.
